What is Salvation
If
we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, then what
does it take for a sinful person to go to Heaven? The answer to
that question is, it takes FAITH! Hebrews 11:16 says, "But
without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh
to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them
that diligently seek Him." It takes a step of faith to please
God and to believe that He will give you what you ask of Him. John
3:16 tells us that, "For God so loved the world (and that includes
you) that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever (again,
that's you) believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting
life."
If you have been searching for that "something"
or "someone" to fill that void on the inside of you, Jesus
in your ONLY answer. To commit your life to Him and live for Him
is the best decision you will ever make in your life. "How
do I do that?" you might ask. It's very simple! The Bible says
in Romans 10:9, "If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus
and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved."
To have the forgiveness of God, the confidence of
going to heaven, and Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, pray
sincerely the following prayer as you repent of your sins and trust
Jesus and Him only to save you. This will be your step of FAITH.
SALVATION PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father... I come to You in the Name of Jesus. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and my sins and that He arose from the grave. I now ask you to forgive
me of my sins and become the Lord of my life. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
That's it! It's that simple.
Now that you have become a Christian, God's plan
and desire is for each Christian to grow. There are several ways
to grow in your new faith journey, they are:
- Read the Bible. A good place to start is the gospel of John.
It shows throughout this book the love of God towards you.
- Pray. This is simply talking with God every day.
- Fellowship with other Christians. The best way to do this is
to find a church locally and attend regularly. If you are in the
area, come worship with us. Here, you will make lasting relationships,
enjoy fellowship and grow in your faith. You will learn a great
deal about how God wants you to live each day.
